9Mobile begins rolling out of eSim shortly after the trial was started by MTN for subscribers who own compatible devices. Also, 9Mobile customers that activate the eSim will get a free 7GB worth of internet data.

The news was disclosed in a release by 9mobile Acting Director, Marketing, Layi Onafowokan who said that the eSIM launch is the latest move by the company to deliver to its customers the most excellent experience that advanced technology provides.

“eSIM replaces the traditional physical plastic SIM card for compatible devices and brings a whole new spectrum of benefits and possibilities”, he further added.

The eSim is a software-based digital chip which can be embedded with devices. It measures just 5mm in length and 5mm in width and soldered into a device motherboard with all the functions of a regular SIM card.

All 9Mobile customers, both new and existing are eligible for the data offer when they activate the eSim. However, it is important to note that not all devices are compatible with the eSim technology.

How to Get 7GB Free Data on 9Mobile eSIM

Visit any 9mobile Experience Centres around you and ask for eSIM activation. You will be asked to scan a QR code which will help you download an eSIM profile.

List of Compatible Devices

eSim technology compatible devices are:

Google Pixel 3, Google Pixel 3 XL, Google Pixel Pixel 4, Google Pixel 4 XL, Apple iPhone 11, Apple iPhone 11 Pro, Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, Apple iPhone XS, Apple iPhone XS Max, Apple iPhone XR and Samsung S20 Series.

Presently, not all devices support the eSim technology.
