While the dark mode feature has become the order of the new day among webs, apps and software. However, the Windows 10 OS is not left out and will let you experience the old school-like colour when you use your PC. Here, you will be learning how to use Windows 10 in dark mode.

The evolution of the dark mode has cut across many websites and their mobile apps. Also, many software makers upped their game by introducing the majority’s favourite feature in their software.

However, PC users can only enjoy the darker screen feature if they have at least, the Windows 10 Anniversary Update launched in August 2016 on their PC. If you have updated your Windows 10 OS recently, you shouldn’t have any problem using the dark mode.

  1. Tap the Windows key and find Settings towards the bottom left of the screen.
  2. From Settings, click on Personalization then colour from the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Find the Choose your colour option and click on the box right beneath it to show a drop-down menu.
  4. From the drop-down, select Dark and the entire PC screen colour is switched.

You can also add a custom colour by when you click on Custom and run your Windows OS enabled PC in two colours – a dark display for all OS essentials to include taskbar and Start Menu, and another custom colour for apps on your PC.

How to Enable Auto Dark Mode on Windows 10

Unfortunately, there is no option to change to dark mode for individual apps on Windows 10. Instead, you can customize the app's settings differently if such an app supports the dark mode feature.

Also, the Windows 10 OS doesn’t switch automatically between light and dark modes. However, Windows 10 Auto Dark Mode, a third-party app I found on GitHub can help you adjust your display depending on the time of day. Besides, you can decide to change themes for individual apps or in bulk, or change themes for both apps and the system.
